Meet Our Staff

ANGEL MITCHELL DVM

Angel has been with Bonnie Brae since its beginning in 1991. She received her veterinary degree from North Carolina State University in 1988. Her special interests include Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Nutritional Management, and Avian Medicine. She has a very holistic approach to medicine and includes conventional as well as complementary modalities in her practice. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, yoga, walking, swimming, and traveling to exotic places with her family.

IAIN FITCH DVM

Iain has been a Veterinarian at Bonnie Brae for the last 10 years. He graduated from NCSU Veterinary College in 1989. After graduation, Iain has pursued further education in animal chiropractic and exotic mammal medicine/surgery. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and enjoys attending annual chiropractic and exotic mammal seminars. Iain is a fanatic about football (soccer) and plays three times a week (old body permitting). He also enjoys fly fishing as time permits. Iain’s favorite film is Lawrence of Arabia and he listens to Pink Floyd as much as possible. Iain has four cats, three dogs (all foundlings), and two ferrets.

  MARY JONES

Mary has been a Client Care Coordinator at Bonnie Brae since 2001. Mary's hobbies include knitting, spending time with family and friends, traveling, crafts, and cross stitching. Her favorite television shows are Ghost Whisperer and Deal or No Deal. Her favorite book is Purpose Driven Life and her favorite song is What a Wonderful World by Ray Charles. Mary has one dog named Hershey and two cats named Snickers and Mimi.

MELISSA ALLISON

Melissa has worked at Bonnie Brae since 2005, at first as a Client Coordinator, but now as a Veterinary Nurse. She is married and has a golden retriever named General Lee, and to round off the happy family, a small black cat named Mimi. Melissa enjoys watching movies, hiking, reading, traveling, and shopping. Her favorite television shows are House and Gray’s Anatomy, and her favorite past time is watching the Carolina Panthers.

TIFFANY HARDEE (That's me on the right with Wendy!)

Tiffany is the Financial Manager at Bonnie Brae and has been with our team since 2005. Some of her hobbies are watching movies with her husband, Jay, reading books (mystery is her favorite), and swimming. She loves spending time with her son who keeps her especially busy. She has a Dachshund named Oscar and a Shar Pei named Puggy.

TINA KOVACS

Tina is our inventory Manager, Purchasing Agent, OSHA Supervisor, and Head Veterinary Nurse.  She has been with Bonnie Brae since 1998.  Some of her interests are theater, museums, reading, and music.  Her favorite bands include Pink Floyd, Queen, and Dave Matthews.  She has four dogs, a cat, and a bird.

WENDY SPENCER

Wendy has worked at Bonnie Brae since 2001 and is our Client Care Coordinator Supervisor. Wendy is a native of Polk County. Some of Wendy’s main interests are flower gardening and crafts. Her favorite television shows are Ghost Whisperer and Medium, her favorite movie is Dragonfly with Kevin Costner, her favorite song is Gotta Be Something More by Sugarland, and her all-time favorite band is Boston. Wendy has three dogs named Star, Bongo and Shorty, and six cats named Cleo, Miss Kitty, Misty, Flower, Moo-Ella, and Gabby.

CHASE OWENS

Chase has been with the Bonnie Brae team since late 2007 as our Patient Care Coordinator. His favorite television shows are Reba, Full House, Animal Planet, and UFC. Some of his hobbies are taking care of his pets and riding his dirt bike. He loves all types of music. He has reptiles, two birds, two cats, insects, spiders, chickens, rats, and rabbits.  He has recently been helping on the weekends in our boarding facility as a Kennel Technician.

JENNI NICHOLS

Jenni joined our team in June 2008 as a Veterinary Nurse.  She has been a Veterinary Nurse for about 13 years and is a certified Phlebotomist.  She likes the t.v. show "House", the movie "The Color Purple" and she enjoys all types of music.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and children and they like to go fishing and camping.  Jenni has three dogs named Rattler, Roscoe, and Sophie.  She, also, has two cats named Yami and Sway.

JORDIE TURNER

Jordie joined our team in March 2009 as a Kennel Technician. In August 2011, she aquired the position of Nurse.  She loves all types of music and her favorite television shows are CSI and House and she likes all scary movies.  Her hobbies are water sports and outdoor games.  She has a dog, two cats, and chickens.

STAR THOMPSON

Star joined our team in May 2007 as a Kennel Technician and then moved to the veterinary side as a receptionist in February 2008.  She has recently been promoted as our Kennel Manager in July 2011. Some of her hobbies are hunting, fishing, personal fitness, dog grooming, gardening, going to church and spending time with her family.  Her favorite T.V. show is Criminal Minds and she loves watching all types of movies and listens to all types of music.  She married Travis Thompson in 2006 and they have two handsome sons together.  They also are parents to two dogs, a golden/retriever mix named Bandit and a mixed breed named Bear.

ANNA LAUGHTER

Anna joined our team in July 2011 as a Kennel Technician.  Anna loves to work with animals and has volunteered in the past at a humane society.  She loves spending time with her family, reading poetry and short stories, modeling, and dog training.  Her favoirte kinds of music are rock, country, bluegrass, folk, rap, and pop.  Her favorite television shows are One Tree Hill, America's Next Top Model, and Tim Burton movies.  She has a lab named tucker, a Yorkeepoo named cookie, and a siamese cat named Toby.

JOSH KERR

Josh joined our team in August 2011 as a Kennel Technician.  His favorite show is Jersey Shore and his favorite movie is Pearl Harbor and he likes all kinds of music.  His hobbies are hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, and paint balling.  He has a Wolfhound named Wyatt.  He likes fast cars and building race cars.
