"We have the cutest Chihuahua puppies at Foothills." Those were the words from the cunning humane society staffer that had come into Bonnie Brae that morning and the very words that brought Tilly into our life that afternoon.

From day one, Tilly had that special something. She guarded my pregnant belly and took excellent care of "her" baby once he arrived. She would curl up with him in his blanket at nap time and bathe him with tender kisses.

A few months ago, a program was offered for dogs that had a gift for loving people. Tilly was a cautious beginner who blossomed when she realized the importance of her new job. She is now a registered Pet Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs, Inc. who visits nursing homes and cancer patients.

When she is not at work, she enjoys a good day of rest and relaxation, playing fetch, walks in the park, and eating.
